Westford Community Rowing offers youth (high school and middle school) programs for both novice and experienced rowers over the summer. During the spring and fall seasons we support Westford Academy Crew.

Introduction to Rowing
First Strokes Clinic
This program is for rising 8th graders and up with no prior rowing experience. Students will learn the basics of the rowing stroke as well as boat anatomy, safety and boathouse procedures. Depending on numbers, a mix of sculling and sweep rowing will be introduced in a range of boat classes (singles, doubles, fours, etc.). This program is appropriate for students wanting to experience what rowing is all about, do something new over the summer, or aim to join Westford Academy Crew in the fall. This is a shorter, more intensive form of the four week Learn to Row program above.

This program is for high school rowers with at least one season of rowing experience. Rowing will be exclusively in the 2-, a fun boat that requires maximum focus and cooperation between rowers.
